The Climb: Milestones That Shaped My Life
This timeline is more than a list of accomplishments — it’s a testament to perseverance, faith, and an unwavering love of life. From piano keys and sewing machines to mountain summits and speaking stages, every chapter reflects courage through challenge and joy in the journey.

1960s–1970s: Foundations of Passion and Perseverance
1969 – Began piano lessons; practiced one hour daily for eight years. Mastered Malagueña, Saber Dance, and Mozart’s Concerto in C.
1971–1972 – Walked 20 miles twice to raise money for the March of Dimes.
1973 – Served as church primary accompanist at age 12.
1976–1980 – Concert choir, gymnastics, and musical theater.
1980 – Named Most Outstanding Female Student and Regional Gymnastics Champion.
1980s: Building Dreams and Family
1981–1985 – Sewed her own wedding dress (won sweepstakes at Utah County Fair).
1983–1984 – Graduated from cosmetology school, earned license, and started a home salon while raising her first son.
1988 – Welcomed second son, David.
1991–1993 – Moved to Cache Valley, built dream home, began motivational speaking career, and welcomed daughter Heather.
1990s–2000s: Endurance and Empowerment
1998–2001 – Completed multiple century rides and the Lotoja bike race (the longest one-day bike race in America).
2002–2003 – Survived a head-on car collision, divorce, and later became a licensed massage therapist.
2005–2008 – Ran marathons, captained Ragnar teams, won biathlons, and published motivational CDs.
2010 – Keynote speaker at Health and Wellness Conference.
2010s: Climbing Mountains—Literal and Spiritual
2012 – Began rock climbing, ice climbing, and canyoneering; summited Mount Rainier.
2014 – Published Jesus is Here, Come Join the Feast.
2015–2018 – Summited Grand Teton and Mount Shasta; completed 50-mile backpacking trips; took up backcountry skiing.
2019 – Said goodbye to both parents; still summited the Grand Teton again with her son.
2020s: Legacy and Light
2020 – Led and guided a women’s climbing group to the summit of the Grand Teton.
2023 – Solo summit of Mount Nebo.
2024–2025 – Reprinted her book’s 10-year anniversary edition and released it on Kindle.
